The Town of Ramapo announced Tuesday that the New York State Public Service Commission has scheduled two public hearings on United Water New York Inc.’s pending request to increase the company’s base rates by 28.9 percent, to provide it with additional revenues of about $213 million dollars beginning June 1, 2014 ending May 31, 2015. The Public Service Commission Hearings will take place on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Ramapo Town Hall.
On April 8, 2014, the Administrative Law judge in the rate case issued a “Recommended Decision,” proposing that the United Water New York be granted a rate increase of approximately 15% in total revenues to United Water New York.
