A Rockland man was arrested on Sunday for leaving the scene of an accident after he struck and injured a cyclist in New City.
Jonathan Fried, 49, of Nanuet, stands accused of hitting a 45-year-old cyclist from Bogota, New Jersey at the intersection of South Little Tor Road and Glenwood Drive in New City. Though Fried reportedly failed to stop after striking the man, a witness followed him and called police.
After identifying Fried, police stopped him on North Main Street. Fried was then arrested without further incident.
The cyclist was reportedly taken to Nyack Hospital.
Fried was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury, a misdemeanor. He is scheduled for an appearance in the Clarkstown Justice Court on May 5, 2014.
