SOURCES SAY ROCKLAND WILL HAVE A 10,000 WATT RADIO STATION SOON

The Rockland County Times has received an unconfirmed report that a 10,000 watt airwave permit is currently being bid on for the Rockland County area. Rockland air space currently features lower watt stations including WRCR 1300 AM and WRKL Polskie radio in Pomona. In order to gain higher wattage, a station must purchase a permit from the government (FCC), which generally limits the number of high watt stations in any given area.

The auction is taking place in Washington D.C. Contenders for the major upgrade in radio bandwidth include Polski (Pol Net) and WRCR and other unknown bidders, the source told the Rockland County Times.
