MAN SAYS CONGERS SCHOOL PROPOSAL WOULD SAVE $6.2 MILLION

To the Editor,

As you may know the Congers Elementary School was declared unsafe in August 2013 due to a cracked gym wall. Due to typical governmental overkill the cost to repair the wall pork-barreled into a $6.5 million bond issue. This past Wednesday I presented a proposal and quote to have the repairs done for $275,000.00, and have the work done in two months so the children could return to Congers Elementary in September.

With the proper media attention, the Board of Education and architect firm (that did the initial review, plan for restoration and will do the project management) will have to do the right thing and save the Clarkstown tax payers $6.3 million.

Sincerely,

Jay Papp
Board of Ed candidate
