United Way chose Homes For Heroes for their Day of Caring and enlisted the brute strength of St. Thomas Aquinas College’s Varsity Basketball Team to get the job done. The STAC students spent a day volunteering getting the old Camp Shanks Army buildings in shape for new uses for American war veterans. St. Thomas Aquinas College’s motto is โMaking Success a Habitโ and STACโs varsity basketball team lived up to that, administrators boasted. Chaz Watler, Marcus Henderson, Alushula Odongo, Bradley Saxton, Kiernan Hayes, Matthew Lee, Justin Reyes, Jules De Courtenay, and Jonathan McNair, the team captain, all took part in the Day of Caring. Homes for Heroes is a nonprofit organization focused on providing affordable housing for homeless and disabled veterans. To help support the men and women who served our nation, monetary donations can be donated to Homes For Heroes, Inc., One Blue Hill Plaza, P.O. Box 1648, Pearl River, NY 10965, or online at www.RocklandHomesForHeroes.Com.
