Crime: Unlawful Possession of Marijuana

Donnavan M. Smith, age 24, residing at West Haverstraw, NY, was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana. During a routine road check in front of the Rockland County Correctional Facility, K-9 “Shadow” alerted to the presence of drugs coming Mr. Smith’s vehicle. Mr. Smith on his way to visit an inmate in the facility just prior to his arrest.  Mr. Smith was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Clarkstown Justice Court on June 4th, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. Every third vehicle that entered the parking lot was routinely checked by the K-9.
