MCP Presents has leased 600 acres of land in Saugerties, 70 minutes north of Rockland, to launch the Hudson Project Music and Art Festival at Winston Farm, Marketing Director Kevin Earle has informed local media. Earle says, no, it will not be a second Woodstock, but 20,000 people per day are expected to come to the July 11, 12, 13 event.

MCP, which does major music productions all across the United States, says Hudson Project will be the newest U.S. music festival offering concert-goers the “ultimate fusion” of more than 85 genre-defying musical acts performing on four stages, all set against the backdrop of the magical Catskill Mountains. MCP has done similar shows in Dallas, New Orleans, Atlanta, North Carolina and other places in the U.S. operating from its Denver, Colorado base.

Preliminary line up for the festival includes Kendrick Lamar, Bassnectar, Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips, STS9, Moby (DJ set), Big Gigantic, Excision, Atmosphere, Matt and Kim, Flying Lotus, Dr. Dog, The New Deal, Holy Ghost, Kill Paris, Bad Rabbitt and many, many more with other acts to be named soon.

SFX Entertainment is joining MCP Presents in the venture. Michael Lang, one of the founders of the original Woodstock festival, will represent the landowners in the new venture. Camping options including tents or luxury accommodations are available.

MCP will offer some transportation options to get to the event. Information at hudsonmusicproject.com or facebook.com/thehudsonproject.
