STONY POINT – Don’t mess with crab traps in Stony Point.
A Pomona man and and Airmont man have been hit with theft charges in connection with a crab trap that was stolen and damaged, according to Stony Point Police.
Anthony Caruso, 24, of Airmont and Christopher Marte, 23, of Pomona were charged on June 16 with petty larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Marte was also charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief as a result of damage to the crab trap, police said.
Marte, police said, was turned over to Haverstraw police, who wanted him in connection with a warrant on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana and driving a car while his license was suspended.
Caruso and Marte face a hearing in Stony Point Town Court.
