Alfredo Barrales, age 19, residing at 13 Partition Street, Haverstraw, NY, was sentenced June 24, 2014, before Rockland County Court Judge William K. Nelson to a state prison term of four years and three years post release supervision after pleading guilty to assault in the second degree. District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about October 18, 2013 at approximately 4 a.m., the defendant was at El Jalisco Bar located in the Village of Haverstraw. The defendant approached the victim and asked for a cigarette and if the victim wanted to buy cocaine. The victim answered no to both questions, the defendant stabbed him with a sharp object. The victim was treated at a local hospital for his wound.

Octavio Cervantes-Flores, age 27, residing at 13 Partition Street, Haverstraw, NY, was sentenced June 24, 2014, before Rockland County Court Judge William K. Nelson to a state prison term of four years and five years post release supervision after pleading guilty to assault in the second degree. District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about October 14, 2013 at approximately 4:15 a.m., the defendant was at the Red Tomato Bar located in the Village of Haverstraw. The defendant approached the victim and stabbed him with a sharp object. The victim was treated at a local hospital for his wound.

Untitled3SEXUAL CONDUCT AGAINST A CHILD
Victor Marryshow, age 50, residing at1 Foxhill Road, Chestnut Ridge, NY, was sentenced June 24, 2014, before Rockland County Court Judge William K. Nelson to a state prison term of 12 years and 10 years post release supervision after pleading guilty to course of sexual conduct against a child. District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about and between October 1, 2012 and March 31, 2013, the defendant engaged in sexual conduct with then a 10-year-old victim.

Angelo Viggiani, age 43, residing at 22 Piermont Avenue, Piermont, NY, was indicted on June 25, 2014 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of strangulation in the second degree, criminal obstruction of breathing and assault in the third degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about May 24, 2014 at approximately 6:15 p.m., the defendant during an argument placed his hands around the victim’s throat and applying pressure causing the victim to become dizzy, disoriented and nearly loose consciousness. The defendant also threw the victim to the ground causing bruising and abrasions to the victim’s back and shoulder.

VEHICULAR ASSAULT
Ulices Flores-Martinez, age 29, residing at 160 North Main Street, New City, NY, was indicted on June 20, 2014 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of vehicular assault in the second degree and driving while intoxicated, a felony. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about January 17, 2014 at approximately 10:40 p.m., the defendant was driving on Route 202 in the Town of Haverstraw when he struck two vehicles that were stopped at a red light.  The defendant then fled the scene and was located approximately 1/2 mile away from the car crash.  Upon speaking to the defendant, the officers observed an odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the defendant and also observed the defendant to have glassy eyes and impaired motor coordination.  The passenger in one of the vehicles was seriously injured as a result of the accident.  The defendant had a DWI conviction in 2011 in the Town of Clarkstown.

CRIMINAL CONTEMPT
Jamaal Jack, age 21, residing at 97 Broadway, Haverstraw, NY, was indicted on June 20, 2014 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crime of criminal contempt in the first degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about April 23, 2014, Haverstraw Town Officers were at the victim’s residence investigating a crime when the defendant entered the residence. There is a full stay away order of protection in effect preventing the defendant from being in the victim’s home.

ASSAULT & CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON
Patrice Leslie, age 29, residing at 12 Forest Drive, Garnerville, NY, was indicted on June 20, 2014 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of assault in the second and third degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about January 1, 2014 at approximately 1:40 a.m., the defendant and victim while at a New Year’s Eve party had a verbal altercation. The victim attempted to walk away when the defendant struck her with a beer bottle. The victim suffered a broken nose and laceration requiring medical attention.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A FORGED INSTRUMENT, GRAND LARCENY & PETIT LARCENY
Olakunle Oyewole, age 28, residing at 1115 E. 85th Street, Brooklyn, NY, was indicted on June 20, 2014 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree (five counts), grand larceny in the third degree (two counts), attempted grand larceny in the fourth degree and petit larceny. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about February 3, 2013, the defendant used several different forged credit cards encrypted with other people’s account information to purchase multiple gift cards at Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond in the Spring Valley Marketplace, thereby committing larceny in the amount of $10,380.

ASSAULT, OBSTRUCTING GOVERNMENTAL ADMINISTRATION & DWI
Alexis Edmundson, age 53, residing at 3 Elise Drive, Nanuet, NY, was indicted on June 25, 2014 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of assault in the second degree, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and driving while intoxicated. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about February 22, 2014 at approximately 7:55 a..m, the defendant struck another vehicle while failing to stop at an intersection in the Village of Spring Valley. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers observed the defendant to be in an intoxicated state. The defendant became extremely hostile and kicked an officer causing the officer to require medical attention and miss approximately six weeks of work.

ROBBERY
Darren Nigro, age 48, residing at50 Mountainview Avenue, Central Nyack, NY, was indicted on June 25, 2014 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crime of robbery in the third degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about May 20, 2014 the defendant forcibly stole $61 from the cash register at the Mobil Gas Station on Route 303.

DWI, AGGRAVATED AUO & FALSIFYING BUSINESS RECORDS
Wilmer Nivelo-Morocho, age 34, residing at 14 North Madison Avenue, Spring Valley, NY, was indicted on June 25, 2014 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of aggravated driving while intoxicated, as a felony, driving while intoxicated, as a felony (two counts), aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree and falsifying business records in the first degree. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about August 24, 2013 at approximately 8:05 p.m., a member of the Spring Valley Police Department observed the defendant sleeping behind the wheel of his vehicle, which was in the lane of travel on Hoyt Street in the Village of Spring Valley.  Upon approaching, the officer observed the defendant to be in an intoxicated condition as evinced by the odor of an alcoholic beverage, glassy eyes and impaired motor coordination.  Upon arrest, the defendant gave the police officer a different name and different date of birth.  The defendant’s blood alcohol content revealed a .21%.
