BOIL WATER ORDER LIFTED FOR SEVERAL ADDRESSES IN SLOATSBURG AND TUXEDO

United Water received official notification from the Rockland County Health Department that enables the boil water order to be lifted for customers at the following locations:

· In Sloatsburg– the area north of Washington Avenue along the Route 17 corridor as well as all residences on Park Avenue and Whrittenour Terrace.

· In Tuxedo– the following addresses on RT 17: # 9, 15, # 21,(Tuxedo Manor Apts #1-16), #31 (Tuxedo Manor Apts # 1-16.)

The boil water order was issued on July 4 as a precautionary measure following a break on an 8-inch water main on Route 17.

Customers were ordered to boil water as a precautionary measure while United Water emergency crews restored water service and water quality tests were performed. Lab results indicate that the water meets all safe drinking water standards.

“We recognize that a boil water order is an inconvenience to our customers and we thank them for their patience during this time,” said Michael Pointing, vice president and general manager of United Water.
