Police: Man Tried to Push Pregnant Woman Down Stairs

STONY POINT – A 32-year-old Stony Point man is accused of attempted assault in connection with an incident in which he’s accused of trying to push a pregnant woman down a flight of stairs, according to Stony Point police.

Enrique Ruiz of Fonda Drive, Stony Point, was arrested July 2 after an investigation of a domestic dispute. Police said Ruiz is accused of trying to injure the woman and also damaging her iPhone. He was charged with third-degree attempted assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Ruiz was arraigned in Stony Point Town Court and released on $1,500 bail pending a July 17 hearing. A court order was also issued requiring him to stay away from the victim, police said.
