POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

On July 15, 2014, the Stony Point Police Department arrested Jarad T. Sheppard, 42, of 21 South St., Haverstraw, on the charges of criminal possession of controlled substance, seventh degree, unlawful possession of marihuana and criminal contempt (bench warrant).

The defendant was arrested after vehicle and traffic stop revealed that the defendant was wanted on an active bench warrant out of the Town of Haverstraw. Subsequent to his arrest the defendant was found to be in possession of 1.5 grams of marihuana and .4 grams of cocaine. The defendant was arrested, processed and issued an appearance ticket, then turned over to the Haverstraw Town Police Department to answer the warrant charges.
