The fourth annual United Latin Festival and Parade of Haverstraw is scheduled for Sunday, August 3, 2014 in the Village of Haverstraw.
This year several persons and organizations from the community will be recognized, including Grand Marshal Hilda Cusick, Parade Godfather Fr. Esteban Sanchez, Parade Godmother Caterina Pantano, Latin Honoree of the Year Jose Guillermo Rosa, Latin American Students of the Year Alicia Rivera and Guillermo Vasquez as well as three businesses of the year, George M. Holt Funeral Home, Inc., Vilmaโs Bakery and Catholic Community Services of Rockland (CCSR).
The parade route will begin at the entrance to Emeline Park on Main Street, proceed to Broadway, and end at the Haverstraw Middle School on Partition Street where there will be a festival. The parade line up will be at 11:30 a.m. and the parade is scheduled to begin promptly at 12 noon.
The festival will begin right after the parade and continue until 8 p.m. At the festival there will be both food vendors and merchandise vendors. There will also be representatives from numerous healthcare organizations and community non-profits at the festival. As in prior years, over 10,000 spectators are anticipated.
