Haverstraw Backpack Drive

Once again the Haverstraw Holiday Meal Committee will be giving away backpacks filled with school supplies from children from K – 12. The event will be held on Sunday, August 24 from Noon – 3 p.m. at Quisqueya Sports Club on Broadway in Haverstraw.

Last year the committee gave-away over 500 backpacks filled with school supplies and provided a luncheon of hamburger, hotdogs, activities for the children & music. This year they are in the process of collecting schools supplies and back packs and monetary donations to purchase the food for the event.The goal is 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies.
