Parents and children enjoying music together? That’s the dream of Mary Tainter McKenna, her husband and several musicians who worked together to create a “Precious Child-Love Songs and Lullabies.”
Mary Tainter McKenna and her husband began looking for music they and their young daughter could enjoy together and decided over dinner one night to do something about it. Thus the album “Precious Child” came about, performed by the late legendary jazz guitarist Joe Beck and signature artist Daryll Tookes.
Mary Tainter McKenna says she is looking to reach as many ears as possible and she is doing just that on the Internet, Huffington Post, Parade magazine, TV and radio stations, newspapers and magazines across the country and around the world.
She and her husband, who once headed up Sony Music Studios, live in Pomona and work in Manhattan. Mary works for IPG Mediabrands, a media and marketing group that manages 37 billion dollars in global billings. The album, 20 years in the making, they say, was enhanced by Tookes’ passion and appreciation of family life.
