Ricky Romano of Stony Point Named Musical Director of Off-Broadway’s “Ruthless the Musical”

Stony Pointer Ricky Romano, who is musical director at Thiells United Methodist Church, will direct the new show “Ruthless the Musical” from September 5 – 22 in a nine-performance run. Romano tells the Rockland County Times the production is a benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

“Ruthless” is the story of beautiful and talented eight-year-old Tina Denmark (Sophie Ann Caruso), who will do anything to play the lead in a school play. Anything! The question is where does such remarkable talent and unstoppable ambition come from? The answer may shock you when you see this award-winning Stage Mother of musicals.

“Ruthless, the Musical” was written by Joe Paley (book and lyrics) and Marvin Laird (music), best-known as the longtime conductor for Bernadette Peters. Performances are at Stage 72@the Triad, 158 West 72nd Street. Tickets at ruthlessthemusical.com.
