WORLD SMILE DAY IS FRIDAY! CORNER BAKERY CELEBRATED WITH SMILEY MUG GIVEAWAY

unnamed (4)In celebration of World Smile Day, Friday, October 3, Corner Bakery Cafe located at the Shops at Nanuet will give the first 50 guests in line free smiley face mugs, with 25 cent coffee refills for a year. Corner Bakery Cafe in Nanuet opens at 7 a.m.

To further spread the joy, Corner Bakery Cafe will give guests a set of two mugs – one for themselves and another to share a smile with someone else. Guests who receive the mugs and their lucky recipients will be treated to 25 cent hand-roasted coffee refills for a year when they present the mugs on future visits to Corner Bakery Cafe. The mugs are bright yellow and feature the classic smiley face image.

“Smiles are not hard to come by at Corner Bakery Cafe, but we love the idea of devoting one day to spreading joy and happiness,” said General Manager Martin Maslag. “We hope these mugs will be one of many smiles our guests receive that day.”

Guests are encouraged to join the World Smile Day conversation on social media by posting a picture with their mugs and #SmileAtTheCorner.

The origin of World Smile Day traces back to 1963 when commercial artist Harvey Ball created the smiley face, one of the most iconic symbols of happiness and goodwill. Ball thought everyone should devote one day each year to smiles and kind acts, and in 1999, declared the first Friday in October World Smile Day.
