Clarkstown police break home barricade and take man into protective custody

Clarkstown PD have alerted the public that a 32-year-old man barricaded himself in his residence on Ohio Avenue in Congers today shortly after 11 a.m. and threatened to harm himself and/or his mother.

Police responded to the scene but were unable to make contact with the man, who refused to speak or exit the premises. Shortly after 2 p.m. police forced their way past the man’s barricade home and took him into protective custody.

The man was transported to Nyack Hospital for an evaluation. No injuries were sustained. No charges have been filed at this time and the man’s identity has not been made public.
