RACHEL RHEE WINDS UP TO “STRIKE OUT DIABETES”

Former New City resident Rachel Rhee will be among those walking with her team Rachel’s Rockstars Sunday, October 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at Provident Bank Ball Park in Pomona, the Rockland Boulders stadium to “Strike Out Diabetes.”

Rachel, the granddaughter of Anthony and Emma Goei, has type one diabetes and has to prick her fingers 10-12 times a day to check her blood sugar and wears an insulin pump all the time. She does carb counts and measures all of her food. Rachel says scientists are close to creating things to help millions of diabetics in the world such as smart insulin, encapsulations, artificial pancreas and more.
