The first Patsy’s Pizzeria was opened at 2287 1st Avenue, in East Harlem by Pasquale (Patsy) and Carmella Lancieri. It was the dream of this newlywed immigrant couple to serve the growing population of people who longed for the cuisine of their homeland in a casual family atmosphere. Patsy’s was soon established as an original of this “family style” model of the modern pizza restaurant.
