HOLIDAY LIGHTS OF NYACK TO BE TURNED ON NEXT SATURDAY

Families and friends can bundle up for a holiday celebration as the Nyack Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual “Holiday Lights of Nyack” event on Saturday, December 6 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Veterans Park Gazebo on Main and Cedar Streets in the center of Nyack. Kids of all ages can enjoy a cup of holiday cheer ― free hot chocolate served by Nyack’s chocolate emporium Chocolaterie or free hot cider provided by Mostly Myrtle’s, a prominent vendor at the Nyack Farmers’ Market (a weekly Chamber event).

Everyone can then settle in and enjoy the sounds of the season offered by the Nyack High School Choir, the Lower Hudson Valley Youth Chorus under the direction of Jared Rosenblum, and the musical stylings of Nyack’s own Marla Pasquale. The Bossy Frog Band will also lend its special brand of musical fun to the festivities. Along with caroling and musical cheer, Nyack actor and JohnnyCakes restaurant host Dave Blau will share a special holiday reading. To top off the merriment, the Highland Hose Company has made special arrangements for a visit from Santa Claus himself.

“Holiday Lights of Nyack has become a much-loved tradition in our community. The spirit of the season comes alive with caroling, hot chocolate and cider, holiday stories, Santa and the twinkling lights,” said Scott Baird, president of the Nyack Chamber of Commerce. “Come for the lights, and stay for the shopping and dining. Our local businesses are spreading the good cheer with special offers for diners and shoppers before and after the event.”

Diners and shoppers visiting local establishments can pick up a special holiday discount card good for 20 percent off purchases in Nyack’s shops, restaurants and bars. Holiday Lights of Nyack is made possible by the generous support of local businesses. The Chamber thanks the Pour House for donating the tree, and Highland Hose Company for working their special connections with the North Pole.
