It’s been a Black Friday to forget for some Rocklanders, most notably two men who had their faces sliced open. In one instance an employee at Costco was attacked with a boxcutter by a fellow employee and also suffered a serious abdominal injury.
In a second case, Janice White, 40-years-old, of 4 Anna St. in Nyack, was arrested on first degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly slicing the face of a 60-year-old man who was hanging out at Memorial Park.
Police received a call alerting them to a potential suspect with a weapon at the park and upon rolling in discovered a man with a severe laceration to the right side of his face. After an investigation police determined Ms. White to be the assailant and she was located and placed under arrest.
The victim was cared for at Nyack Hospital. Police did not indicate the relationship between suspect and victim nor did they indicate any connection between the two incidents.
A suspect has yet to be apprehended in the Costco stabbing.
