Nyack Hospital is the recipient of a $20,000 donation from Mercedes-Benz of Nanuet for its Blow Away Breast Cancer campaign. The contribution will support the hospitalโs free breast cancer screening program for medically underserved women.
Rich Hesse, owner of Mercedes-Benz of Nanuet, along with his wife Amy and son John, presented the check to Patricia Joseph, M.D., director of the Breast and Women’s Health Prevention Services at Nyack Hospital, in a ceremony at the dealership. Much of the donation was raised by Hesse donating $100 per car sold in the month of October to the cause.
Dr. Joseph said, โI was overwhelmed to receive such a generous donation. Rich and Amy Hesse are deeply caring people who give true meaning to the word ‘community.’ The Breast Center at Nyack Hospital will use the funds to help with the screening, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer for those who are uninsured or underinsured in our area. We are very fortunate to have people like Rich and Amy as part of our Rockland County family.โ
Rich Hesse shared, โWe are honored to make this donation and join the fight against breast cancer. Our support of this initiative not only represents our commitment to the community in which we operate, but also emphasizes the importance of supporting local organizations that are making a positive impact in Rockland County and beyond.โ
Employees at Mercedes-Benz helped raise donations by taking part in the Blow Away Breast Cancer walk, which featured Mercedez-Benz as a major sponsor.
Employee and social media director Jacqueline Dodrill said, “We never could have made the donation without everyone working so hard in the month of October to make extra sales. Itโs amazing to see such a generous donation go to a cause that so greatly benefits our community.”
