For 14 years Jeffrey Friedberg has been leading a Bossy Frog and a not so bossy Monkey. For eight years he has been bringing his eclectic band to Nyack for ArtsRockโs annual winter Holiday Extravaganza – The Bossy Frog’s Band Happy New Year Concert Plus Musical Petting Zoo –for children, their parents and grandparents.
This year, for the first time, there will be a musical petting zoo where children can try out different instruments under the guidance of music teachers from all over Rockland County.
Nyackโs own Friedberg is a music therapist and New York State licensed creative arts therapist. The Bossy Frog Band is guaranteed to get all the kids (and adults) moving to & singing along with their music. Friedberg originally developed the “Bossy Frog” concept in order to inspire children to learn as they learn best – through experiential activities and movement.
โI love when children use their imaginations and I like to call our style of playing ‘nutritional music,’โ said Friedberg.
The Bossy Frog Band will be playing favorites from their eight albums with award winning musicians. Jill Liflander as the Bossy Frog; Teres Giammarco as the Monkey; Alice Backer the Hoola Hooping Fiddler; Joe Angelori on guitar and Jeffrey Friedberg on banjo, lead vocals and guitar.
The concert is recommended for children one to eight. It takes place December 30, 2014 at the Nyack Center. Tickets are $15 each.
