Three North Rockland women accused of grand larceny at Palisades Mall

Three North Rockland women have been arrested on charges pertaining to an alleged theft on December 13, 2014 at the Palisades Mall in West Nyack . At approximately 8:10 p.m. on that date the Clarkstown Police Department responded to Macy’s for a report of shoplifting.

The suspects, Latoya Brown, 23 and Haillee Jones, 19, both of Haverstraw, NY and Ashley Hernandez, 20, of Stony Point, NY were reportedly observed by loss prevention employees taking merchandise valued at $4,101.42. The merchandise consisted of clothing and accessories. Jones, a Macy’s employee, allowed Brown and Hernandez to bypass the cash register without paying for the merchandise by creating a transaction and then cancelling it.

They were arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. They were charged with grand larceny third (felony) and criminal possession of stolen property third (felony) and falsifying business records 2nd (misdemeanor). All three suspects were arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and were released on their own recognizance.

They will return to court on December 17, 2014 at 1:30 p.m.
