BLAUVELT SONS OF ITALY ENTERTAINED OVER 75 CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WITH CRAFTS, MAGIC AND A VISIT FROM SANTA

unnamed (1) unnamed (2)On December 14 the Blauvelt Sons of Italy Lodge 2176 hosted a special Christmas event for Lodge members and their families as well as the general public. The event featured holiday crafts for the children, balloon creations, an interactive magic show, pizza and pasta selections and a very special visit from Santa himself.

The event was hosted free of charge at the newly renovated Lodge located at 46 Van Wyck Road in Blauvelt, New York. Pizza was donated by Del Arte restaurant; the entertainment was donated by Lodge member Michael Pizzi of Pizzi Funeral Home; beverages were donated by Lodge member Joseph Sorce of Sorce Funeral Home; hot food was donated by Lodge member Jimmy Gentile; cookies were donated by Aunt Mia’s Sweets and balloons were donated and crafted by Lodge member Marco Castanso. Similar events were held in the past but this year was the most successful to date with close more than 100 people on hand to enjoy the afternoon’s entertainment.

The Rockland Lodge of the Order of The Sons of Italy in America was established in 1966. They recently held the 5th annual Italian Feast and Carnival, which has quickly become one of the largest events in Rockland County.
