SUFFERN – A Haverstraw woman whose car was impounded faces harassment and criminal mischief charges after she slapped a tow truck company worker and broke the worker’s telephone, according to Suffern police.
Police said that the woman’s car was impounded in another community and was towed to Suffern by a local company. When the woman went to pay the impound fee, police said she became belligerent to the workers at the company.
The incident, police said, led to the woman slapping a female employee across the face and breaking the worker’s phone.
The woman, police said, did not get her car out of impound and will face additional fees as well as a hearing in Suffern Village Court from the Thursday incident.
