Accident slows traffic on Route 59

WEST NYACK – An accident on Route 59 in West Nyack on Wednesday has slowed traffic on the road as emergency crews work to clean up the wreck.

Clarkstown Police reported the single-car accident occurred in the eastbound lane by Larch Court when a car overturned before it came to rest on the side of the road. One individual was taken to Nyack Hospital with unspecified injuries.

Consequently, all but one lane of traffic remain closed from the Palisades Parkway interchange to Crosfield Avenue.

Traffic delays are expected in the area while clean-up continues.
