Senator David Carlucci (D – Rockland/Westchester) and Nyack Hospital are hosting free cancer screenings on Friday, March 20 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Nyack Hospital, located at 160 North Midland Avenue, in Nyack, NY.
The Breast Center at Nyack Hospital will be providing free clinical breast exams, mammograms, and if needed, pelvic exams with PAP tests for uninsured or underinsured women, ages 40 and over.
“Breast cancer is the second most deadly form of cancer for women,” said Senator Carlucci. “As a community it is critical we provide women with the tools they need for early detection and treatment. In previous years, the professional, hard working staff of Nyack Hospital has saved lives at our screenings, and I look forward to another successful event.”
“Our team is committed to making sure that all women have access to the same high quality and compassionate care available,” said Patricia Joseph, MD, FACS, Director of Breast and Women’s Health Services at Nyack Hospital. “Our free breast screenings help to reach those ladies who are uninsured or underinsured and may not seek testing because they cannot afford it. Early detection and treatment saves lives.”
The event is funded by the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen, The New York State Department of Health, Cancer Services Program of the Hudson Valley, Capital One, Mercedes Benz of Nanuet and Nyack Hospital.
Pre-registration is suggested, but walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointment, please call the Breast Center at 845-348-8551. Anyone requiring Spanish speaking assistance can call 845-348-8582.
