ORANGETOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT:

PETIT LARCENY & CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
Jenna B. Santora, age 21, of Pearl River, NY, was arrested on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 1 p.m. The subject was arrested for shoplifting at the Pearl River ShopRite after a store loss prevention officer observed her concealing $141.38 worth of merchandise and leaving the store without paying for same. Subject was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a misdemeanor. Subject was released on $200 bail and is due in Orangetown Court on April 14, 2015.

AUO & UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
Jennifer Robert, age 27, of West Haverstraw, NY, was arrested on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:17 a.m. Subject was observed driving a 2014 Toyota on Main St. in Nyack without its headlights turned on. A check with New York State DMV revealed subjects privilege to operate a motor vehicle in New York State was suspended 8 times. Subject was arrested and taken to OPD Headquarters. Additionally, the officer found a small bag of marijuana in subjectโ€™s pocketbook. Subject was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. Subject was turned over to a New York State Trooper on a separate arrest warrant. Subject is due in Nyack Court on April 14, 2015.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
A 28-year-old man of Medford, NJ, was arrested on March 14, 2015 at 4:54 p.m. for unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation. The suspect was stopped on South Middletown road in Pearl River for a traffic infraction. A marijuana cigarette and small clear container of marijuana was found in the ashtray of the vehicle. The suspect in due in Orangetown Court on April 11, 2015.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA
A 26-year-old Nyack man and a 22-year-old Nyack woman were arrested on March 14, 2015 at 9:24 p.m. for unlawful possession of marijuana. The pair was in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation on Main St. in Nyack and the officer noticed a strong smell of marihuana emanating from the vehicle. The defendants were found in possession of 44 small bags of marijuana. The defendants are due to appear in Nyack Justice Court next month.

DRINKING IN PUBLIC
A 36-year-old Nyack man and a 34-year-old Nyack man drinking alcohol on a public street in front of 32 Catherine St. in the Village of Nyack were observed by an Orangetown officer on March 15, 2015 at 12:10 a.m. Subjects were issued summonses for drinking in public, a violation, and are due in Nyack Court on April 14, 2015.

DWI
Anthony Lewis, age 36, of Garnerville NY, was arrested on March 15, 2015 at 4:54 a.m. for DWI, a misdemeanor. Subject was observed operating a 1996 Jeep on North Middletown Road in Pearl River in an erratic manner. Subject failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Orangetown Police Department headquarters where he refused to submit to a chemical test. He was released to a family member pending a March 5, 2015 court date.

ROCKLAND COUNTY SHERIFFโ€™S OFFICE:

DWI
Mendez mugJeronimo Mendez-Candelario, age 41, of Haverstraw, NY, was arrested on March 21, 2015 for DWI. A Sheriff Patrol Officer observed the above subject operating a motor vehicle on Route 45 in an erratic manner and with an equipment violation.ย  Subject was found to be intoxicated and arrested. Subject was processed at Sheriff HQ in New City and released on summonses to return to Ramapo Justice Court.
CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
PHOTO-5James Gormley, age 44, of Stony Pont, NY, was arrested on March 13, 2015 on a warrant out of Haverstraw Town Court for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. Subject was arraigned by Honarable Judge Branti and ROR with a future court date.

 

 

TOWN OF RAMAPO POLICE DEPARTMENT:

STOP-DWI โ€˜CRACKDOWN ARRESTS
Ramapo Police Department along with other Rockland County law enforcement agencies conducted a countywide Stop-DWI โ€˜Crackdownโ€™ detail, from March 13 through March 18. The detail was coordinated by the Rockland County Stop-DWI Office. The following arrests were made by Ramapo Police: 36-year-old Mikhaylo Sheshur of Ramsey, NJ, for Driving While Intoxicated and 22-year-old Jessica Parker of Upper Saddle River, NJ, for Driving While Ability Impaired by drugs. Ramapo Police will be participating in additional DWI details throughout the year.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, AUO & SUSPENDED REGISTRATION
On March 17, 2015 at approximately 3 p.m., Ramapo Police conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of 237 Route 59 in the Village of Airmont. As a result of this stop, Ramapo Police arrested the operator of the vehicle, Sheldon Atkinson, age 26, of the Bronx, NY. Mr. Atkinson was found to be in possession of cocaine and marijuana. He was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony, criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, a Class B misdemeanor, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the second degree, a misdemeanor, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, a misdemeanor. Mr. Atkinson was arraigned before Hon. Riley of the Village of Airmont Justice Court. He was remanded to the Rockland County Jail. Bail was set at $5,000. He was directed to reappear in the Village of Airmont Court on March 19, 2015 at 5 p.m.
