FROM CPD

The Clarkstown Police Department investigated a report of a possible shot fired at 10:38 a.m. in the area of Church St. and Highview Ave. in Nanuet. As a precaution, the Highview Elementary School located on Highview Ave implemented a safety hold. The safety hold prohibits any outside activity for the students but the rest of their school schedule remains intact.

A check of the area and the building where the shot was reported to have been fired from was checked and cleared. The area has been deemed safe and the reported shot fired appears to be unfounded at this time, but the investigation will continue. The safety hold has been lifted and some police presence remains in the area. Expect brief traffic delays transiting the area.
