Odell Beckham and other pro-athletes come together for a softball game and homerun derby to battle childhood diseases
Provident Bank Park, home of the Rockland Boulders, will host a celebrity fundraiser to benefit St. Jude Children’s Hospital on June 26.
Professional athletes, including O’Dell Beckham, David Wilson, Michael Vick, Steve Weatherford, Rashad Jennings and Mo Wilkerson will be stepping up to the plate to help the country’s leading children’s hospital. New York football fans can come and enjoy their favorite players having fun while making a difference.
Gates for the event open at 5 p.m. at Provident Bank Park. Celebrity guests will participate in a Home Run Derby at 7 p.m., followed by a softball game at 8:30 p.m.
Captains Mo Wilkerson and David Wilson rallied their current and former teammates to sign on for the game. “We are so happy to be able to get involved in a fun, meaningful way to help the children that need it most,” said David Wilson, pro-football player turned Olympic hopeful. “And we think this event will be a special experience for fans as well.”
Other celebrities are expected, local singer/songwriter, Tina Perez will sing the national anthem, and the New York Giants biggest fan, and one of the local organizers of the event, license plate guy Jo Ruback will serve as master of ceremonies.
