STONY POINT POLICE DEPARTMENT:
PETIT LARCENY, GRAND LARCENY & CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
Alan K. Jones, age 20, residing at 52 Coolidge Street, Haverstraw, NY, was arrested on August 25, 2015 for petit larceny, grand larceny in the fourth degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth and fifth degrees. At 5:51 a.m., the Stony Point Police responded to the area of Dara Lane for a report of a suspicious person. Further investigation revealed the defendant was observed entering and attempting to steal property from a vehicle parked in area of listed location. The defendant was arrested, processed and released on an appearance ticket returnable September 16. Upon his release from custody, the defendant was arrested again at approx. 11:34 a.m. after the Stony Point Police responded to the area of Hudson Drive for a reported larceny of a bicycle. Further investigation revealed the defendant did steal a bicycle from said area and did also steal an iPhone and wallet from another vehicle in the area of Debby Lane while utilizing said bicycle as his mode of transportation. The defendant was arrested, processed, arraigned and remanded to the RC Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail. He is due back in the Stony Point Justice Court to answer the additional charges.
CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Michael Momoh, age 57, unknown residence, was arrested on August 25 for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. The defendant was arrested after officers responded to the area of 81 S. Liberty Drive (Ultimate Gas station) for a subject who was loitering and asking customers for money. Further investigation revealed the defendant was in possession of a quantity of cocaine. The defendant was arrested, processed and released on an appearance ticket after posting $140 bail. He is due back in the Stony Point Justice Court on September 17, 2015.
TRESPASSING
Mary Campbell, age 52, residing at 2 Swim Club Lane, Stony Point, NY, was arrested on August 23, 2015 for trespassing. The defendant was arrested following an investigation where it is alleged the defendant did unlawfully enter the property of the Coptic Church located at 3 Swim Club Lane, Stony Point, and began yelling at churchgoers. This was done after the defendant had been previously warned to refrain from entering said property. The defendant was arrested, processed and released on an appearance ticket.
RAMAPO POLICE DEPARTMENT:
DWI
A Haverstraw man who was spotted running a red light in Hillcrest on August 17 has been charged with felony drunken driving. Ramapo Police said a town officer on the midnight shift saw a car drive through a red light and then stop in the middle of the intersection. An investigation found that the 39-year-old driver was intoxicated and that also had been previously convicted of driving while intoxicated. Because of that earlier conviction, the new charge was elevated from misdemeanor to felony level. The driver faces a hearing in Ramapo Town Court in Airmont. This incident was among 127 calls for service Ramapo police had on August 17. Those calls included: 4 accidents, 2 fires 13 medical emergencies, 12 alarm activations and 9 arrests, including the felony DWI, criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, unlawful possession of marijuana, warrants, and vehicle and traffic misdemeanors.
ROCKLAND COUNTY SHERIFFโS OFFICE:
DWI
Daniel Nizzaradini, age 23, residing in New City, NY, was arrested on August 15 for DWI. A Sheriff Patrol Officer observed the subject operating a motor vehicle on North Little Tor Road in an erratic manner. The subject was found to be intoxicated and arrested. The subject was processed at Sheriff HQ in New City and released on summonses to return to Clarkstown Justice Court.
DWI
Sheriff Louis Falco has announced the arrest of a DWI subject, whose name is withheld due to age. A Sheriff Patrol Officer responded to call of a motor vehicle collision in Nyack and a vehicle fleeing the scene on august 23. A Sheriff’s Officer located the vehicle on Route 9W in Haverstraw. The operator was found to be intoxicated. It was also determined the operator was using a vehicle without the authorization of the owner. The subject was arrested and transported to Sheriff’s HQ in New City, where he was processed and released on an appearance ticket and summonses to appear before the Village of Nyack Justice Court at a later date.
DWI
Andy Ortiz, age 17, residing in Haverstraw, NY, was arrested for DWI and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. A Sheriff Patrol Officer responded to call of a motor vehicle collision in Nyack and a vehicle fleeing the scene. A Sheriff’s Officer located the vehicle on Route 9W in Haverstraw. The operator was found to be intoxicated. It was also determined the operator was in unauthorized use of the vehicle. The subject was arrested and transported to Sheriff’s HQ in New City, where he was processed and released on an appearance ticket and summonses to appear before the Village of Nyack Justice Court at a later date.
