Assemblyman Skoufis Slams Monroe Board for KJ Annexation V

STATEMENT BY SKOUFIS: The 164-acre annexation petition wrongly approved by the Monroe Town Board this evening sets a precedent with serious repercussions. The Town of Monroe’s own consultants alongside so many others found Kiryas Joel’s environmental reviews to be either insufficient or not in the overall public interest. I strongly believe that a more sustainable approach is needed – one that preserves the intent of annexation law while forging a more considerate relationship with nearby communities.
