When the gas company Spectra proposed expanding a gas pipeline that runs through North Rockland they promised neighbors they would not cause too much of a disturbance. ย However, some Mott Farm Road and Kelly Court residents in the hamlet of Tomkins Cove contend the project has been a burden on their neighborhood already.
Pictured here are dozens of mature trees that were cut down in backyard woods of residents, creating a clear cut space where once a wooded area stood. One resident told the Rockland County Times that the gas company began their project earlier than expected without warning and that work would continue to as late at 10:30 p.m. at night.
