Clarkstown officer suspended from job due to domestic violence arrest in Connecticut

oliverThe Clarkstown Police Department on Wednesday acknowledged the arrest of William Oliver, a police officer with the department for 11 years. The Stamford Police Department had arrested Oliver on Monday, December 7 for a domestic incident involving Oliver and his former girlfriend.

CPD released the following statement: “William Oliver has been relieved of duty and his shield and identification were removed. We have initiated an internal affairs investigation to parallel the investigation being conducted by the Stamford Police Department.

“The department takes domestic violence issues very seriously. We will monitor the investigation as this case moves forward in a Connecticut court. The department will take appropriate action based upon the outcome of the case.”
