This exhibit of William Brucknerโs artwork continues through February, 2016.ย ย It was scheduled to commemorate the centennial of Brucknerโs birth.ย The Historical Societyโs exhibit will consist of landscapes, floral still life paintings and portraits.ย Most of these paintings will be for sale.
William Bruckner was a beloved New York painter who captured his hometown of Nyack and neighboring landscapes in oil paintings, watercolors and drawings.ย Much of his artwork depicts the village of Nyack and the Hudson River Valley.ย He was also known for his still life paintings and portraits, particularly of theatre legend and fellow Nyack resident Helen Hayes and renowned black civil rights activist Mary McLeod Bethune.
The Historical Society of the Nyacks is located at 50 Piermont Avenue, Nyack NY 10960 โ in the historic Depew House directly behind the Nyack Library – open on Sundays from 1 – 4 p.m.
