ARC TO CELEBRATE DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING WITH DRUM CIRCLE, SONG AND ORIGINAL ART

People who receive services and supports through ARC of Rockland, area musicians and fine artists, dignitaries and members of the Rockland County community will come together to celebrate the legacy of Dr. King at 10 a.m., January 15 at ARC Headquarters in Congers, NY.

Arthur Lorde of Motherland Rhythms & Dance will lead a drum circle. Lauren Rudolph of Lauren Rudolph Art will be on hand for the unveiling of a mural created in conjunction with participants in ARC’s Day Habilitation program. Angel Hill, singer/ songwriter will lead the ARC Singing Seniors.

“This event will highlight the numerous ways in which Dr. King’s philosophy of inclusion plays a role in the civil rights of all people—including people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities,” said Carmine Marchionda, ARC Executive Director. “We celebrate Dr. King’s life and his legacy by coming together as one community.”
