Sparky’s Diner, well known as a key social artery in the Town of Haverstraw, marked 40 years under the leadership of Jeannie Nicolakis at a surprise party Monday morning.
Dozens of North Rockland residents and Haverstraw and Stony Point politicians, along with County Executive Ed Day, showed up to congratulate Jeannie, who resident and Sheriff’s Dept. police officer Charlie Lowther described as “everyone’s second mother.”
Town of Haverstraw Supervisor Howard Phillips presented Nicolakis with a plaque and official proclamation naming February 2016 Sparky’s Diner Month.
