Nyack Starbucks Serving Alcohol; Other Franchise Locations May Follow Suit

NYACK-Next time you go to Starbucks, don’t forget to bring your ID. Nyack now is serving wine and beer to its usually caffeinated clientele. While the café is usually filled with bookworms and computer tech people, it now will welcome those in need of a nice glass of red wine or a quick bottle of craft beer.

Alcohol will be available from 2 p.m. until closing time, which at the Nyack location is 9:30p.m. during the week, and 10p.m. on the weekends. The staff at the Main Street location said they sold three glasses of wine on Tuesday, the first day of alcohol sales.

Starbucks has already started to serve alcohol at a few locations in Westchester and Manhattan, but Nyack is Rockland’s first location across the Hudson. Starbucks management says if the pilot program continues to work out they may consider serving alcohol across the country.
