The Rockland Center for the Arts (ROCA) Thursday Landscape Painting Classes will hold a joint exhibition of their work – “United at Union” – during the month of April 2016 at Union Restaurant, 24 Main Street in Haverstraw, New York. The restaurant will host an opening reception on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 3-5 p.m., which is open to the public. Free hors d’oeuvres will be served complements of Union, and guests are asked to make a $10 donation that will directly benefit the High Tor Animal Shelter. All donors will be entered into a raffle to win an original autographed painting.
The work of approximately 25 artists will be on display, including pieces in oil, acrylic and watercolor. The landscape paintings represent a broad compilation of styles, techniques and artistic visions. John Creagh, who teaches both the morning and evening Thursday painting classes at ROCA says, “This exhibit is representative of the outstanding paintings created by a very talented group of students. I’m extremely proud of their work and pleased that Union Restaurant is showcasing it during the month of April.”
Mr. Creagh teaches the painting classes at ROCA in West Nyack on Thursday mornings, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., and in the evening from 6:30- 9:30 p.m. “The Thursday painting classes at ROCA are perennial favorites,” says Daly Flanagan, Coordinator of the ROCA School for the Arts, “and we are thrilled to see the students’ work on display at a local venue.” Registration for spring and summer painting classes is currently open, with the Late Spring Semester starting May 9, 2016. The exhibit is on view during the month of April, during lunch and dinner hours, every day except Monday. For additional information on Rockland Center for the Arts, call 845-358-0877.
