unnamed (1)During the Roman Catholic Church’s “Jubilee Year of Mercy” the New York Archdiocese, led by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, is holding a number of “Mercy Saturdays” throughout the area. The cardinal invites north Rocklanders and others to attend the upcoming Mercy Saturday on April 16, at the Salesian National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians in Stony Point.

The day begins at 2:30 p.m. and will include talks on mercy, an opportunity to experience God’s mercy in the sacrament of confession, and other testimonies and devotions. Dolan will conclude with Mass at 5 p.m. and then a light reception.

During the Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis has asked Catholics “to reflect in a special way on God’s mercy toward us, and our need to be merciful toward each other,” Dolan said.
