Rockland County Times has obtained the previously missing overtime slip of Ramapo Police Chief Peter Brower from September 16, 2014, the same day that Brower spoke on behalf of his private security firm at Ringwood (New Jersey) Town Council.
Apparently, September 16, 2014 was a very busy day for Chief Brower.
The former moonlighting police chief Peter Brower, once highest paid in NYS, put in a full day’s work, filed a slip claiming four hours of overtime to attend a meeting at Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corp. and also spoke the same evening at Ringwood Town Council on behalf of his private security firm, Pierson Access Systems. The Ringwood Town Council and Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corp. meetings have timelines that overlap.
Brower admitted he used his town paid secretary to take phone calls and prepare payroll on behalf of his private security business.
Brower made $369,000 a year according to Seethroughny.net, run by Empire Center a New York watchdog site designed to give New York a more transparent government. Chief Brower and Ramapo Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence are the only two signatures needed to sign off on the overtime slip.
