Here’s the scoop: New ice cream option in Suffern

Daisy Dreams, a party supply store in Suffern, has now started serving handmade ice cream. When you walk into the store customers are greeted with a smiling face, decorative balloons and an ice cream freezer to the right filled with 10 different flavors.

Kathleen Ruane and her husband own the shop and have been running the store since February 2015 and started serving ice cream at the end of June. Daisy Dreams is a party supply store in which customers can come in and buy and materials necessary for any type of party. They also host parties in the back of the store.

After noticing a drop off in sales during the summer months Ruane thought it was time for something new and fun. “Ice cream certainly fits that context,” Ruane said. “We certainly have seen an increase in foot traffic since adding the ice cream.”

Daisy Dreams family friendly atmosphere is what they strive for to set them apart from the competition like Party City.

Jane’s Ice Cream in Kingston, New York provides the ice cream. The store is located in Indian Rock Plaza in Suffern and is open from 12-9 p.m.
