The Nyack Chamber of Commerce announced that classic cars will once again roll into the center of Nyack and park on Main Street for the fifth annual Classic Car Night on Thursday, July 14 from 5 p.m. until dusk. A rain date is set for the following Thursday, July 21. This yearโs line-up of vehicular perfection will include a wide array of classics, antiques, rare models and muscle cars. Admission is free โ and participation for display cars is also free. (Display car parking is available on a first come, first served basis.)
Promising a summer evening full of fun for automotive aficionados, families and friends alike, entertainment will include classic pop favorites spun up by DJ Doowop Don. The event is generously sponsored by
Autobahn Indoor Speedway, Motorcar Manor, Palisades Auto Sales , Rockland Rodders and Speedpro Imaging. Visitors coming to Nyack to show their cars and admire those on display can stroll down the center of Main Street and take advantage of the wide variety of fine and casual dining choices, along with the eclectic array of specialty shops available throughout the Village.
“This community-centered event promises to once again attract a strong showing of car enthusiasts โ people who take pride in owning and maintaining special vehicles as well as people who appreciate them,โ said Scott Baird, Chamber President. โItโs also a great opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy the Villageโs unique restaurants, boutiques and service businesses.”
Adding fun and food to the mix, Nyack restaurants, merchants and night spots will be joining in with special offerings. To name just a few highlights, Nyack Optical is offering Classic Car Night merchandise, and Nyackโs classic diner Johnny Cakes is putting on a โ50s-themed dinner service, complete with specials on burgers, shakes and fries, โ50s and โ60s music, and waitresses dressed for the part. Classic Car Night piggy-backs on another community initiative spearheaded by the Chamber โ Nyackโs Thursday Farmersโ Market โ which will be held earlier in the day (8:00 am to 2:00 pm) in the heart of Nyackโs downtown. When all the fresh local fruits, vegetables and other delicacies have been sold, the cars will be cruising onto Main Street to begin the eveningโs festivities.
