The seventh annual Highlands Bluegrass Festival and Craft Fair comes to the historic Great Lawn of Harmony Hall from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, September 18. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the Lower Hudson Valley’s only outdoor Bluegrass festival on the Great Lawn of Harmony Hall – an 1848 mansion that is under restoration.
This year the festival welcomes feature act internationally-renowned banjo great Jeff Scroggins and his band Colorado as they bring Bluegrass back to the ever-green heart of the Ramapo Highlands. Jeff Scroggins and Colorado will be joined on this year’s festival stage by regional favorites Shady Grove, and the Moonshine Creek Bluegrass Band.
This local fall festival focuses on one of America’s most popular, original, musical art forms. It also includes an outdoor craft fair featuring the talents and goods of local artisans that cover the gamut from jewelers to potters to winemakers. There are activities for kids of all ages at the Kids’ Corner.
This year’s festival sponsors: Rockland County Department of Economic Development and Tourism and the Town of Ramapo. The Bluegrass festival is part of the New York State Hudson Valley Ramble and welcome visitors from throughout the region to enjoy true Appalachian music in the heart of the magnificent Hudson Highlands and Ramapo River Pass.
