Goodbye to Warm Yesterdays – Hello New Friends and School Days

The lazy days of summer are quickly drawing to a close and thoughts now turn to the expectations of the new school year.  SOCSD students walked, rode school buses, and car pooled their way to their respective school buildings.  Some returned to the same school they attended last year, some moved up to the next school, and some walked into their new school for the very first time.

Kindergarten students at William O. Schaefer approached the building with a myriad of emotions. However, no matter what the feeling, there were the open arms and smiling welcoming faces of the WOS Administration and Staff to greet returning students, and reassure those who were not quite sure.

SOCSD School Superintendent Dr. Robert Pritchard toured the District buildings to meet, greet and welcome students.  He said, “We are anticipating an exciting school year for all of our students, and look forward to implementing stimulating new learning opportunities which we worked very diligently to develop over the summer break.  Here’s to a boundless 2016-17 school year to everyone in our SOCSD family.”
