Local Dignitaries Joined Inserra Family at Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
INSERRA PRESS RELEASE
After undergoing a top-to-bottom renovation, ShopRite of Tallman, an Inserra Supermarkets store, celebrated its Grand Reopening on September 25 with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and welcomed customers with a variety of giveaways. The redesigned 52,000-square-foot store features a modern new look and expanded services, including free nutrition counseling and wellness programming by an in-store dietitian.
In addition to ShopRite of Tallman, the family-owned grocery store chain owns and operates ShopRites of Garnerville, New City, Stony Point and West Nyack in Rockland County and 17 ShopRites in New Jersey.
To mark the store’s Grand Reopening on Sunday morning, the Mayor of the Village of Airmont Philip Gigante, Trustee of the Village of Airmont Ralph Bracco and Rabbi Shmuel Gancz joined the Inserra family at the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony.
Many other senior leadership members of Inserra Supermarkets also were in attendance, including Ron Onorato, president and COO; John Kopf, district director; and Rich Roberts, store manager of ShopRite of Tallman.
“This renovation responded to what our customers were asking us for in their neighborhood store, and we thank them for their patience during the process of upgrading the entire space,” said Lindsey Inserra, vice president of marketing and corporate health and wellness of Inserra Supermarkets. “Our goal was to improve the shopping experience at ShopRite of Tallman, and we are excited to welcome our customers into the updated store.”
Notable store renovations include an expansive produce department with a wide selection of locally-sourced and organic items as well as upgraded deli, meat, seafood and floral departments and a vastly-expanded Kosher section.
The freshly-redesigned space also features an improved store layout with wider aisles, wood accents throughout and further energy efficiency updates, such as new refrigerated cases with doors and LED lighting. ShopRite of Tallman will now have a chef on staff to create an array of gourmet, prepared food options, which prove ideal for busy shoppers and their families looking for quick, healthy meal alternatives.
“The Inserra family has a rich history of working with our community and has been a great neighbor throughout the years,” said Mayor Gigante.
Store Will Offer Free Nutrition Counseling and Wellness Programming Well known for making the health of its customers and associates a priority, Inserra Supermarkets is now offering free nutrition counseling and wellness programming at ShopRite of Tallman. Johna Mailolli, R.D., the new in-store registered dietitian, will serve as a key wellness resource for busy customers, enabling them to get their nutrition questions answered and pick up healthy recipe ideas while shopping.
Mailolli also will host a variety of free store-based events each month, such as product demos, one-on-one nutrition counseling, weight management classes and health screenings, among others. Further, she will work with the local organizations to conduct free workshops and seminars.
Established in 1954 by Patsy Inserra as a privately-held family business, Inserra Supermarkets remains true to its roots as a family-owned grocery chain. The company is also widely acknowledged as a good corporate citizen, dedicated to improving the communities it serves and supporting a wide range of non-profit organizations on local and national levels.
