I am not going to reveal much of the plot of “A Shot In The Dark” in this review because of the enjoyment of this vehicle.
Written, produced and directed by the very talented Randy Accardi and it develops into a fantastic surprise ending. Let me just say it is not only a musical murder mystery, but a very funny one and right from the get-go. I rate it Four Stars Out of Four!!!!
The action takes place at Bedside Manor (yes) on Halloween, which is the Graham’s 10th wedding anniversary and Anna’s birthday. Stars Laura Pesanell and Accardi as Anna and Cable Graham. Get it?
And it has Alexis Jimenez as Charity Case (love it) and then there is Joe Bellina as Biff Wellington and Doreen Di Benneddetto as Laura Lynn Hardy and Amanda Skrapits as Sal Minella (ha ha). With a mix of in the public domain show tunes performed just wonderfully by this very talented cast and including “Anything You Can Do,” “Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off,” “The Way You Look Tonight” and “Let’s Get Away From It All.”
“A Shot In The Dark” is a humdinger. This is Randy Accardi’s own creation and it is an outstanding piece of work that I think could wind up Off-Broadway. Again I rate It Four Stars!!
Catch it at Antrim Playhouse on Spook Rock Road in Wesley Hills. Produced by Jim Guarasci. For tickets and information contact antrimplayhouse.com.
