Harassment charge against King of Spring Valley dismissed by Zugibe

Oft-maligned Spring Valley Mayor Demeza Delhomme, who was once videotaped referring to himself as “King of the Village,” has managed to put one controversy behind him.

He was alleged to have shoved Larry Weissman, a village attorney, “at least three times” on September 13 around 12:20 p.m. The alleged incident took place in Village Hall while both were on work duties.

According to the criminal charges, the parties were involved in a dispute over Mr. Weissmann’s use of municipal resources in his official capacity as attorney. Zugibe said that “after a thorough review, the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office requested a dismissal of the charge of harassment in the second degree, a violation, in the interests of justice.”
